Affiliation with Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE)
The Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE) is the oldest and one of the most prestigious professional bodies dedicated to the advancement of teacher education in India. Established on 25th November 1950 at MS University of Baroda, the association was founded through the pioneering efforts of eminent educationists like Prof. T. K. N. Menon, Prof. Hansa Ben Mehta, and Prof. S.N. Mukerjee. It was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act in 1966.
IATE plays a pivotal role in providing a national platform for teacher educators from across India and neighboring countries to engage in critical discussions and deliberations on pressing educational issues, particularly those related to teacher education. The association actively contributes to shaping educational policy, and its major initiatives include:
Organizing annual conferences, national and international seminars, and workshops.
Publishing academic resources, including journals and monographs.
Offering opportunities for professional development and collaboration.
Today, IATE boasts a life membership base of over 2,000 members representing diverse regions of the country.
